Frequently Asked Questions and Troubleshooting
Start with your account, subscription, and client settings, then verify the connection, route, and order status step by step. The answers follow the practical troubleshooting sequence, making them easy to search when an issue occurs.
Account & Subscriptions
Handle registration, device changes, client downloads, and subscription refreshes. First confirm your account status in the user panel before changing client settings.
Does registering for RvVPN require an email address?
No. RvVPN does not require an email address; you can register with a username and password. Save your username and password securely, and avoid entering inconsistent characters on different devices. After registration, open the user panel to view plans, subscriptions, and client downloads.
Why does the client still show old routes after the subscription link is updated?
Clients usually retain the route list from the last update. Open the client’s subscription management page and run an update or refresh instead of creating the same subscription again. After the update, return to the route list and confirm that it has changed. If the old content remains, close and reopen the client, then check whether the newly updated subscription configuration is enabled.
Do I need to buy a new plan after changing devices?
No. You do not need to purchase another plan when changing devices. RvVPN has no device limit, and the same account’s active subscription can be used on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. On the new device, download the client and subscription from the user panel, and disable configurations no longer used on the old device to avoid confusing different subscription versions.
Where can I get the client and subscription?
After signing in to the user panel, open the client download area and choose Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, or Linux for your system. Subscriptions should also be obtained from the user panel. Do not use installation files from unknown sources or subscription content forwarded by others. After installation, import it using the method provided in the panel and confirm that the client has enabled the active configuration for your account.
Connections & Troubleshooting
Confirm system permissions and the client mode first, then investigate issues with a specific app or subscription import. Avoid changing too many settings at once during troubleshooting.
The client says it is connected, but websites still won’t load. What should I do?
First switch to another route and reopen the website. If the issue continues, check that the client’s system proxy or VPN permission is enabled, and make sure the browser is not locked to another proxy setting. You can also temporarily quit other tools that modify network settings, then reconnect. If the cause remains unclear, submit a ticket in the user panel with your system, client, and symptoms.
Why does only one app fail to use the proxy?
This is usually related to the client’s split-routing rules, the app’s network implementation, or system permissions. First switch the client to a global mode suitable for troubleshooting and check whether the app becomes accessible. If global mode works, the split-routing rules need adjustment. If it still does not work, change routes and restart the app. After changing settings, switch back to the mode that fits your normal use.
What should I do if subscription import fails or reports an invalid format?
First confirm that you copied the complete subscription content provided by the user panel, with no extra spaces at either end and no truncation by a chat tool. Do not use the panel URL in the browser address bar as the subscription. Then delete the failed duplicate entry in the client and import it again. If the client is outdated or does not support the current format, download a platform-compatible client again from the user panel.
The system asks to add a VPN configuration. Is it safe to allow?
When the client establishes a system-level connection for the first time, it needs the VPN configuration permission provided by the operating system. Confirm that the open client is the RvVPN client obtained from the user panel, then follow the system prompts to authorize it. If permission was previously denied, check the relevant setting in system preferences and reconnect from the client. Without effective system permission, the client interface may change even though network traffic does not pass through the selected route.
Speed & Routes
Route performance depends on the local network, target region, and specific app. Choose based on your use case and verify the result rather than relying on the route name alone.
What should I do first if the connection slows down or stutters during peak hours?
Keep the local network unchanged and switch only the route for comparison. Start with a geographically closer region, then test other routes in the same region. Avoid changing the client mode, Wi-Fi network, and app settings at the same time. If every route is slower, first check whether the local network itself is congested. When submitting a ticket, include the time period, selected region, and affected service to make diagnosis easier.
Should I choose a route by region or by use case?
For everyday websites and general apps, start with geographic distance; a closer region is usually a sensible baseline. Streaming, AI Tools, and region-restricted services also evaluate the exit region, so choose one that matches the target service’s location. A successful connection does not necessarily meet the service’s regional requirements. After switching, reopen the app or refresh the page so an old session does not continue using the previous region information.
Streaming works, but playback keeps buffering. What should I do?
First reduce concurrent downloads and cloud sync on the local network, then switch to another route in the same region. Streaming apps may retain old connections, so fully quit and reopen the app after switching routes. If playback works in the browser but buffers in the app, check whether the app has been routed directly. Regional detection and playback smoothness are separate issues; verify the page region and actual playback separately during troubleshooting.
How broad is RvVPN’s route coverage?
RvVPN covers 110+ countries / 210+ routes. When choosing a route, do not focus only on the number of entries. Test routes based on the target region, specific app, and current network. The same route may perform differently on different local networks, so keep several alternatives suited to everyday use and switch when the destination or network conditions change.
Billing & Refunds
Monthly subscriptions and data packages use different data rules. Before placing an order, confirm the plan type, usage, and payment option. Handle order issues through the user panel.
What monthly subscription tiers are available?
Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date. Consider your usual video viewing, file transfers, and multi-device use rather than comparing total data alone. Plan details and current status are shown in the user panel.
Does monthly subscription data reset every month?
No. Data packages remain available until used and never expire. Options include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Data packages and monthly subscriptions use different reset rules, making data packages better suited to irregular usage and consumption-based planning. Confirm the selected type in the plan panel before purchase so you do not confuse a data package with a monthly subscription.
How is the price difference handled when upgrading a monthly subscription mid-cycle?
When you upgrade a monthly subscription mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated against the remaining days. Before upgrading, check the current plan, remaining status, and target plan in the user panel, then continue after confirming the details. Once complete, refresh the account overview and subscription information, and update the subscription in the client so the new plan status and route configuration stay aligned.
Which payment methods are supported?
RvVPN supports Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. After opening the plan section in the user panel and selecting a plan, you can view the relevant payment option. Do not create duplicate orders during payment. If payment is complete but the panel has not updated, refresh the order and account overview first, then submit a ticket through the user panel with the relevant order details.
How do I request a refund?
RvVPN offers a 14-day, no-questions-asked refund. Sign in to the user panel to submit a ticket, choose the billing or refund category, and provide the relevant order and request details. Keep the ticket record after submitting and avoid sending duplicate requests for the same order. The ticket reply is the reference for refund progress and the final result.
Unresolved connection issues
When submitting a ticket, include the platform, client status, selected region, and troubleshooting steps already tried. Clear information helps reduce repeated questions.
